  • Profile information you submit - GPA, test scores, intended major, state/country, activities, awards, optional demographic info, and hooks you choose to include.
  • Account information - if you sign in, your name, email address, and profile image from Google.
  • Usage data - your IP address (used only to enforce daily search limits for signed-out use) and basic request logs.
  • Payment information, if you purchase a paid feature - handled entirely by our payment processor; we don't receive or store your card details.

2. How we use it

  • To generate your match statistics and AI-written summary
  • To let you sign in and, for paid users, to save/re-run your profile
  • To enforce fair-use search limits and prevent abuse
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service

3. Third parties we share data with

We share limited data with the following service providers, solely to operate the Service:

  • OpenAI - your submitted profile text is sent to OpenAI's API to generate embeddings and your AI summary. See OpenAI's privacy policy.
  • Google - used for sign-in (OAuth). See Google's privacy policy.
  • Our payment processor, for paid features (details added once payments launch).
  • Our hosting/database providers (Vercel, Neon), who store data on our behalf under their own security commitments.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data retention

We retain your submitted profile and results for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see "Your rights" below).

5. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at [contact email]. If you delete your account, we delete your associated profile data, except where we're required to retain records (e.g. payment records) or where data has already been fully aggregated/ de-identified.

6. Children's privacy

ChanceMe AI is intended for prospective college applicants, who are commonly high school students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
